The series #1a Short Bent Chisel by Pfeil Swiss Made (as shown above) has the gentlest scoop shape of all Pfeil's short bent tools. Carving tools should be handled with care. They should be stored in roll-up cases, wooden boxes or wall-mounted tool racks. The tools should not be allowed to fall on the floor or impact one another. This will avoid mistakes when cutting and also injuries. In order to prevent corrosion (rust etc.), the tools must be stored in a dry room. For longer periods of storage, it is recommended that the tool blades are protected with a thin coat of light oil.
